Supervision

Our team of quality assurance experts provide reflective supervision for all children and family independent social workers. Our experts have Local Authority leadership experience in safeguarding, reunification, fostering, kinship, cared for children and Special Guardianship service areas. Therefore we will ensure match to optimise the supervisor/supervisee experience to support best practice.
Being an independent social worker can sometimes feel quite isolating. We know that robust social work practice is underpinned by reflective supervision.

We also offer this service to practitioners outside of our ESWA for an hourly rate.

Welfare Visits

Sometimes, despite best efforts, Local Authorities can not find homes for children and young people in accordance with staying close. This can mean that children are cared for a distance from the Local Authority area. In such circumstances we can undertake visits on behalf on the Local Authority, whether this is a one off visit or a regular visit to see the child or young person and where they are living.
In addition we offer welfare visits out of hours to children and families as part of an ongoing piece of work or as a one off to support meeting the family and service need.

Consultancy

ESWA was formed in response to the identified need for high quality provision of services in the social care sector, external to Local Authority provision. We have offer a range of consultancy services to support service improvement and development. Our leadership team consists of experienced qualified social workers who are established leaders within social care. Our previous experience has been supporting services on their improvement journey from inadequate OFSTED judgements where services have not consistently met children and family’s needs. We have been instrumental both operationally and strategically in improving these services to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people by ensuring a strong foundation and infrastructure to support development and sustainability. These areas cover permanence, fostering and kinship, corporate parenting and safeguarding.
